The Conventa Best Event Award 2025, held during Conventa Crossover in Ljubljana, was more than just a competition. It became a vibrant stage for innovation, creativity, and meaningful dialogue about the future of events.
This year, EVA Alliance was represented at the very heart of the process: our founder Angeles Moreno served as President of the Jury, while our member Ruth Ann Felismino joined as a jury member. Together, they brought the voice of our community to one of Europe’s most respected industry recognitions.
A Jury Experience that Inspired
For Ruth Ann Felismino, the journey began even before arriving in Ljubljana.
“Serving as a jury member at the Conventa Best Event Award was both an honor and a learning experience. Ahead of the live event at Ljubljana Castle, we pre-scored a large number of applications before narrowing them down to 55 finalists – an inspiring showcase of the creativity, innovation, and sustainability driving the future of events. I was humbled to represent France, and grateful for the chance to exchange insights with leading event professionals from across Europe. The experience was inspiring and reaffirmed the importance of collaboration and excellence within our industry.”
Her words capture the spirit of the award: an opportunity to learn, connect, and celebrate the best ideas shaping the event landscape.
Leading with Purpose
As President of the Jury, Angeles Moreno had the task of guiding discussions among a diverse group of international experts. For her, Conventa was much more than a contest, it was a living laboratory for the event industry.
“Conventa Crossover 2025 in Ljubljana was much more than a competition: it was a live laboratory where our industry’s creativity and resilience were on full display. Serving as President of the Jury gave me the opportunity to approach the projects not only from the perspective of execution, but above all through the lens that fascinates me most: how events influence human behavior, decision-making and transformation.”
Angeles highlighted how the finalists presented not only creativity but also intention: the drive to engage, to shift perceptions, to create impact. The debates among jury members, she noted, were a reminder of the richness that comes when different backgrounds and cultures meet around the same table.
She also emphasized that while the industry is moving forward, there is more to achieve, especially in audience insight, technology use, and positive impact.
“Events have the power to shape behavior and drive meaningful change but only if we dare to aim higher.”
Building Bridges Through EVA
For EVA Alliance, this collaboration with Conventa was not just about recognition, it was about putting women leaders in positions of influence and amplifying their voices in shaping the future of events.
Angeles’ and Ruth Ann’s contributions demonstrate how corporate event leaders can inspire industry-wide transformationwhen they are given a platform to share expertise, vision, and values.
The Conventa Best Event Award showed us once again that events are not just experiences to be consumed, but opportunities to leave a legacy, spark change, and connect people across borders.
